Kalbarri to Pink Lake and Coastal Cliffs Tour Details

Do you want to capture some incredible, otherworldly photos during your trip to Western Australia? Look no further than the jaw-dropping Pink Lake, also known as Hutt Lagoon. Located less than an hour’s drive south of Kalbarri, you won’t be able to stop taking pictures at this must-visit place!

Be amazed by the stunning bubblegum pink hue created by the presence of carotenoid-producing algae, Dunaliella salina, which is a source of beta-carotene — the same pigment which gives carrots their colour. This lake is a dream come true for photographers and nature lovers. Our friendly guides will share cool facts about the lake’s unique colour, so you can learn about this incredible place while snapping amazing photos.

The drive from Kalbarri to Pink Lake also allows us to take in the spectacular Kalbarri coastal cliffs. These dramatic sandstone formations drop over 100 metres into the Indian Ocean, creating awe-inspiring landscapes. We’ll start with Natural Bridge and Island Rock, limestone rock formations forged by the relentless power of the ocean. Both are only a short walk from the parking area, where you can enjoy the stunning coastal views and even the wildlife!

From June to November, enormous Humpback whales migrate north to warmer waters, passing these cliffs along the way. In season, we’ll drive you to all the hotspots to take advantage of Kalbarri’s incredible whale-watching opportunities.

Our adventure continues to Pot Alley, a picturesque ocean gorge carved into Kalbarri National Park by the Indian Ocean. With its towering cliffs and unique rock formations set against the vibrant turquoise waters, it’s a natural wonder that will leave you awed.

We then move on to Red Bluff Beach, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the sands. The striking red cliffs and serene environment provide a perfect backdrop to the end of your day’s exploration.

On our way back to town, we will visit Wittecarra Creek, believed to be the site of the first permanent landing of Europeans in Australia.
